I'm a husband and father living and working in Salt Lake City, Utah.
I make software for a living — sometimes, that's code, sometimes design. I like things that actually work, so that's what I try to make. I started this site so that I could write about what I know and link to what I find out.
I've worked at some cool places — Wingate Web, AtTask, and Electronic Arts. I also started Vast Media as a way to offer small businesses media services from someone who will take the time to understand their business but not break their budget.
When I'm off the clock, I might be rock climbing, taking pictures, playing basketball, or spending time with my family. Actually, preferably some combination.

- I take photos with a Nikon D90 and the excellent 18-105 VR lens that it is packaged with.
- This site is hosted on Dreamhost.
- I do all project coding in IntelliJ IDEA — Java, PHP, HTML, JavaScript — and I highly recommend it. For other stuff, I use TextMate.
- I use a 13" MacBook Pro for almost everything, except Battlefield 3.
- In high school, I wrote some programs for the TI-89
